I went to the range with my new Brian Turner 20 guage fowler. I orderd it in April and received it in early July. It looks similar a TVM fowler, very well made. I had Brian use a Siler lock and white lightening touch hole liner. With a load of 65 grains FFF, denim patch 600 round ball, my first 4 shots went into a 3 inch group offhand at 25 yards. Ignition was fast. I primed with 3F and 4F and could not tell the difference.

When I have time to bench the fowler and try different loads, I'm sure my accuracy will improve. I broke a few clay birds also. My brother was with me. He used a ramrod to knock down an old yellowjackets nest. I broke it in half and used it as wadding twice. It works.

Smoothbores are adictive. My Lee 600 RB mold was delivered yesterday from Mid South Shooters Supply. I will have to use up some of my harder lead very soon.

Congrats on the new fowler. They are a lot of fun aren't they? Now you need a big bore smoothbore, like a .75cal./.11 ga. ::

That's what brothers are for...

Why should you get risk getting stung, just in case the hive is still active and all the yellow-jackets are inside having a hive meeting about structural damage and how to prevent it... :D

Or having a meeting about structural damage and how to achieve it!!!

That was probably a hornet's nest, if it was hanging. Yellow Jackets nest in the ground. I know. I dropped my sythe and headed for the house flailing like a windmill, Hee, hee. I hate hornets even more, they really hurt. :shocking: One of the guys at my range took care of a hornet's nest hanging behind a target backer with a load of shot. :master: Sounds like a winning way. :blah: Haw Haw!
God bless.

Be careful if you think about shooting an active nest. The buggers will follow the heat from the projectile and get you!

However, the smoke will make them passive, at least until the wind blows...

Very nice!

Joel,
That picture just makes me want to snuggle up to the cheek piece and hold it for while. :redthumb: It looks like a lovely firearm!
God bless.
