You might also try making pictures on a bright overcast day. The brightness may be enough to show the grain in the stock and the clouds will defuse the light and make the shadows softer or not noticable at all. If you need more light on a certain area you can use a piece of white posterboard and use as a reflector or take a sheet of aluminum foil and wad it up then carefully open it back out and tape to a piece of cardboard for a reflector. :thumbsup:
