well my .54 GPR showed up about an hour ago. This Is my first non-T/C gun. It looks good and fits me great. I haven't shot it yet, but I think i'm gonna like it. Now, I've been playing with the triggers for a while and can't seem to get the trigger pull when set to be anywhere near as light as my Hawken or Renegade. I have bottomed out the adjustment screw. Do I need to replace the screw? If so anybody know what thread it is? Thanks

Josh

Yes you will need to replace the screw in it but i'm sorry, i don't know what the threads are. I'm sure it is here somewhere since this has been discussed before. I just don't know where. Someone will know though.

Yup. Gotta replace it, but it's not big deal. The one that comes with it is way short. I can't remember the thread size, but take the screw with you to the hardware store and try a few nuts till you find the right one.

Correct length is right at 1/4", but my hardware store only had them too long or too short. Get one over 1/4", make your adjustments on the trigger, then measure the amount of screw sticking out between the head of the screw and the trigger plate.

Remove the screw, trim it and dress the threads, then reinstall. Done.

Of course, I'm open to any suggestion on how to remove the plating off that shiny silver screw so I can match the finish on my GPR!

that was gonna be my next question  .

Simple just paint it. thats the quickest and cheapest way. No body will notice it up between the two triggers anyway. If not cold blue or hot brown.
Fox

I use brass screws and just blacken them up with BP cleaning patches. I could never find the right thread for mine and tapped it out for a #3, if I remember correctly.
Anyway, they are lawyered up and make you modify the weapon to get real results. I have really sweet  Double set triggers.

You can either use dirty patches or use a dremel tool with a brass polishing brush to remove the finish. If it proves to be too tough use the steel brush. Thats how I remove old plating from small car parts.

Heat up the screw real hot and cool it in oil, 2 or 3 times and it will be blue colored and old looking.
