New guy from Maine

Hiya, nice to be here. I've been into the shooting sports for quite a few years now, but just recently developed an interest in muzzleloaders. My main interest is the smoothbore flintlock, particulary fowlers. Reason being is that I've been researching some family history and I've found the first generations on good old mom's side were very early settlers in New England, Portsmouth and north along the coast. Lost the first two generations to incidents with the natives. That got me thinking as to what pieces they might have had in 1690'ish, whichlead me right here. So now I've got some $ saved up and am checking out fowlers, with a particular interest in the club butt style as was common here back then. I like shooters and pieces that look like they've served their owners well. No "trailer queens" as the muscle car crew says.
So I hope to learn from you folks and enjoy the company too.
