Hey guys what's up. I'm new to the world of muzzleloading and am looking to buy a new flinter. Thank god I found this site before I bought anything! Youse guys have been great with all your reviews/tips/advice/etc.

A little about me: I'm 28 years old and don't own any pistols or rifles. I've lived in Bucks County PA all my life. I never hunted before. I can't wait to get a rifle and start shooting. And thanks to this site I actually feel quite confident in what I will be doing when I get to the range. I don't plan on posting much until I get my flinter but just wanted to say hi and thanks again.

Tony,
Welcome to the MLF,great to have you with us.
Lots of fellow PA folks hang here.Visit often
and contribute when you can.
I am snake-eyes:hatsoff:

Tony, it is good to have you around. Greetings from out west (Ohio).

It is great to see younger fellows looking at our sport - and way of life. Once you get started, it is difficult to turn back. There is a little something for everyone in traditional black powder.

Just loaded my flinter for tomorrow's day afield hunting for deer.

Welcome aboard Tony, Don't hesitate to ask question's, It's better to be safe than sorry when just getting started. Good Luck & Good Shootin'

You are from an area rich in muzzleloading history. You should take the time to research some of the old rifle builders that are from your area. This may have an influence on what type of rifle you may want to in the future. I too am from PA...Armstrong County on the Allegheny River. Welcome to the forum...you will learn a lot here. Great place to get questions answered and get excellent advice. Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. This is a great meassage board!

Sarge, yes I've done some research on the history of PA long guns in my area, Bucks/Berks/Allentown/Bethelem, and believe me any of those rifles would be a dream (A. Verner Bucks County style  ) but for financial reasons and the fact that I am complete and total "newbie" I thought a Lyman GPR or Trade rifle would be good to start/learn with.

Welcome from Berks County. :hatsoff: You have found the best place to be when it comes to traditional muzzleloading.
