Like you has stated, it could have went either way, I prefer a left hand side carry and the horn was just easier to make as a lefty. Ive always seen certain pictures of the ways the horn is “ supposed” to look as it’s hanging on the side of the user and that’s what I go by.
This horn was screaming lefty to me..
Also thanks for the comment about the lobe, I feel that sometimes the lobe just needs to be smaller and not too large. I think that sometimes a large lobe takes away from the natural shape of the horn if that makes sense?

I love Horns but never took to working with horn material, so I'll just admire the fine work y'alls do, and maybe buy (another) horn now and agin'!;)
It definitely takes patience and is a labor of love! I’ll most likely have around 35 hours in this horn. I work on it about 15 minutes to a half hour at a time. The most time I spent on it at once was around 2 hours. That way I don’t get tired of it and can think the process through. That method also gives me a chance to think on design and shaping as I go. I had to make a repair near the spout due to me drilling through the tip, though the repair is perfect and hard to see it makes this horn un- sellable in my opinion. So I’ll keep it and practice my scrimshaw in it… then add it to my collection.

Getting closer..one of those pictures shows my repair from my drilling mistake… I may scrim a little on this horn I don’t know.. I may even sell it after all.. who knows.
