ill post some pictures soon, it is very beautiful and the most finely finished colt I’ve ever seen. I’ve owned original colts and replicas in the past and was always annoyed how they shoot so high, sighting concepts in the 1800’s were pretty ridiculous. If I can’t hit where I put my sights it’s just not as much fun. I modified a replica 1851 that I used in nssa competition when I was young and did really well with it but I won’t modify an original whether it be 1st or second generation. I’ve run across many original percussion colts that were period modified with a taller front sight, so folks of the time period must have thought it lame as well. Anyways, that is the hang up I guess. The 1851 is the best pointing colt ever made in my opinion.
