I'm going to try and git this thing sighted in where do I start it's a Kentucky style .36cal, 9"barrel green mountain,L&R flintlock
Do I start with 10grs. or should i go with 30grs. like with a rifle?

Pure target guns are usually loaded with smallish powder charges verses a hunting or plinking pistol.
Everyone expects a different amount of report and stoutness of load.
Depending on the brand powder and the distance to the target, I would probably start with 18 to 20 grains of powder and then adjust up or down from there.

Most of the Kentucky type pistols do well with between 10 and 30 grains. It depends on twist and purpose. Few if any kentucky pistols do well or are capable of safe heavy loads
