Picked this 50 cal. Traditions Kentucky today as a companion for my Blue Ridge 50.
Haven`t even shot it yet, just got home with it. :)

Enjoy. I love my .50 cal pistol. It's a lyman but still nothing like a day at the range plinking with a pistol.

:cursing: Thanks a lot! Now after seeing that and looking up the price, i'll be ordering one lol. :hatsoff:

I`m pretty impressed with the quality, nice wood and fit. It was a toss up though, for ten bucks more i could of got a 1860 Army from Cabela`s, and may yet.
As soon as it climbs above ten degrees i`m going to light her off.
Thanks guys. :)

What was the way they carried these in there day, did they just stick them under the belt or did they have a holster set-up.
Shot it today, shoots good and a lot of fun, ended up with 40 grains of FF as a load.

I have a friend who bought one a few weeks back. It had a horrid trigger, but it's nothing that a little stoning wouldn't clean up. It was a very good shooter. Traditions is known for good shooting pistols. I have their Trapper and I'm pleased with it beyond words, especially for the price. Let us know how it shoots! :)

I bought the CVA model when they were still available. I refinished mine it was a factory built gun and had the gloss finish. A bit of carving and afew tacs. I dont have a pic of the bluing rubbed off. It looks much better now.

Thanks Plink, looks good Cherokee.
I had to makea new front sight, it shot a foot high. The front sight was only about 3/16 high and i`m wondering how new this gun was.
But water under the bridge, i made a new blade and now it shoots right on. There`s a adjusting screw on the lock so ya can tune the trigger for less creep anyway.
All in all a good looking gun, next thing i`ll be searching for period cloths and a fur cap.

That short front sight is the same as came on my new Trad. Kentucky pistol also. I bought a new taller brass sight from TOTW to fix that problem. Now, it is very accurage from the sandbags out to 25 yards. Sadly, my offhand pistol shooting needs a lot of work.
