Thank you Merriweather for recovering my old ID and melding it with the new. Looking at the date of the last post under the old ID, I know what happened and how I drifted off.
In 2013 was a widower and was off working on a contract in Afghanistan. I had started "talking via the internet" with the mother of a former of former colleague who was a widow, my age. Shortly after my last post, I flew to Paris-France, not Texas and met this lady at Starbucks.
The pursuit began. Let me tell chasing a women at 66 is just as mind numbing and confusing and wonderful as it was chasing girls at 16. To make a long story short. This coming Saturday we will celebrate our 10 wedding aniversary.
My life became good again. Being alone and widowed is not fun. Being married to this women has rejuvenated my life.
I am not as active shooting as I was. I still have my cannons. I shoot blackpowder cartridges in my Martini's.
Over the past 10 years I have acquired several of the EIC muskets brought out of Nepal. (an F Musket, a fusil and and Sapper& Miners carbine.) I have shot them a little, but not seriously. I have shot one hog and several grouse with the F Musket.
Part of my motivation with coming back to this board is to learn how to shoot these guns, better. I want to use them during muzzleloader deer season next year
After Christmas I'll post them up in the appropriate place here on this forum
