Hello,
I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Bob and I was very active in the muzzleloader scene during the early to late 90’s. I went to many local shoots and competitions including the NH and Maine NMRA territorial’s. I was somewhat competitive and won a few Flintlock and cross stick match’s. My favorite shoot back then was the Barrington Anniversary Matches held on Ed Beals farm. I met some of the nicest folks back then who guided my journey. Too many to list actually. Anyway my son was born in ‘95 and daughter came in ‘99. Life and new careers happened along with other interests. I’ve been away from muzzleloaders with the exception of hunting for a long bit but the good news is I never sold anything. I have my Jim Klein built .40 caliber offhand flintlock with Walter Caine lock and triggers. My Jim Klein built Virginia smooth rifle. The Chambers Isaac Haines I built and two custom cross stick guns built by a local gentleman who’s passed, Marty Carrigan (sp). Any who, I just recently started feeling the bug again. My how things have changed. Who’s this Kibler character! Actually, I may try one of his kits, they look a lot more finished than what I remember. I’m also going to see what if any shoots are still held in these parts, hopefully I’ll get to re-meet many old acquaintances but I’m not sure. I was a young man back then and pushing 60 now, I’m sure many of the folks I met along the way are gone as they were mostly older than me then. As soon as the weather warms up a bit I’m gonna hit the range and see what I can do, should be interesting!
