Well, Thank you to have straightened thing out for me. Lol! :thumb: It's like Montreal. There is a Montréal in France, another less than ana hour drive from where I live, still another IIRC in the US and I believe at least another one but I can't remember where. Australia is one country I'd LOVE to visit some day. But mostly for its country side, National Parks etc for I'm not a city boy. 😄

reason for editing: spelling
I get out of the city every chance that I get!!, a few more years and I am selling up buying a property in the bush. I have actually visited Canada back in 1995, a friend from Olympia Washington took me to the Rendezvous at Old Fort William in Thunder Bay, we camped outside the fort for a week, had a great time!!

Nah few hours south, towards the SA border.

I'm hoping to get over to your beautiful country next year for a hunt. I'd like to take the muzzleloader but powder seems to be a pain.
I've relations near Mt Gambier . If you are over here ime sure you will get powder here have you a particular region in mind The Deer are every where & lots of pigs .No license no tag or limit You get a Hunting permit from any D.O.C if on Crown land but non on private land No charge for permit its mostly a kill return & guide to regional conditions . Not sure what twaddle is involved to bring a gun in .Was no biggy but last luney Left Govt got all anti gun . (Youve been there !) Where do you fancy hunting ?I have a few clues I hunted quite a lot. MLs of Course .
Cheers Rudyard

G'day from Southern Sydney. I have been Muzzle-Loading for 40 years now, mainly flintlocks although I do have a couple of percussion rifles. Just recently I have also caught the black powder cartridge bug and am experimenting with loading 44/40 and 45/70. Looking forward to being a member of this group.
Welcome @Swagman from another Sydneysider.

Tossing up between SI for chamois or NI for sika. It’s a matter of finding Swiss 2 and 4F so I don’t need to resight in.

I think there’s a little more to it now but no big deal still getting a gun over.

G'day to you too, mate! It's fantastic to hear that you've been enjoying muzzle-loading for such a long time. Forty years of experience is no joke! 😮 And it's always exciting when you catch the "black powder cartridge bug" and start exploring new territories like the 44/40 and 45/70.
We're thrilled to have you as a member of this group and can't wait to learn from your experience and see what experiments you're up to!

Could well be, have you ever made it to any of the Hill End shoots or perhaps Tamanick or Griffiths? I belong to the SCMLC.
I used to live at Hill End and am probably responsible for the shoots starting up there on the rifle range as I was a member of the Hill End Rifle Club,[Military] I remember organising the first m/l shoot which was held on the flat near the Post Office.
I was also a foundation member of The Colonial Muzzle Loading Club, the forerunner of the SCMLC.
But we were probably in different times.

A bit before my time, I joined the SCMLC in 1986. Many good times were had at Hill End over Easter, myself and another chap started up the Winter Muster at Hill End over the June long weekend, hoping to ressurect this agin soon.
