Hey from North Texas, my name is Judge and I am 65 years old, I have been interested in muzzleloading since the 1960's ,but have never been involved with clubs or forums until now.I am hoping to learn a lot and make some new friends!

Heidi Y'all from Bastrop County. Got you by 5 years and we've got our share of greybeards here and there's a few centuries of muzzle loading experience here. Welcome to the Institution! Please feel free to ask any question you may have ...the only bad question is the one not asked. Everyone I know of here has all their fingers so we must know what we're doing! :haha: If you already own a smoke pole, pictures are encouraged. Jump in any time.

Welcome to the Forum, Johnny. :hatsoff:

You have come to the right place. You will find friendly, knowledgeable folks willing to share what they know, and the depth and breadth of the knowledge here is awesome.

Howdy Judge, welcome to the forum from your neighbor down the road.
My first police job was in Vernon, I got my start there. My 2nd day on the job I answered an armed robbery call at Coys food store. My training officer and I got shot at by not so friendly friendly fire. I enjoyed my time there, I learned a lot in a few years.
Used to go to George's guns and drool over the selection he had.

Nice to hear from you sir, when did you work for the City of Vernon? I worked there 37 years from 1977 till 2014! Sorry for not answering your post earlier!

If you are not already familiar with the White Smoke Brigade, contact Joe Wolf at his email address [email protected] He heads up this fine group of men and they would be glad to have you shoot with them.

OOPS!?

That's not the Openly Oppressed People's State is it? Whose king is Alley Oop and whose national flower is the Oopsy Daisy? :shocked2:  :rotf:

Welcome Judge. I'm a bit west of you in Aledo (Parker Co.). I think you will find this forum informative and interesting. There are a lot of very knowledgeable experts here not only with regard to BP shooting but history as well.

Yep, that's the place. You've been there, I assume? Are you a resident?

Yes and no! At NASA we all had our own little areas and the odd rubber band whistling through could be a violation of our air space...the one guy who didn't want to play got elected the UN and had to settle disputes! Still amazed everything got done ahead of schedule and we got 6 crews to the moon and back and 13 back without loss of life. OOPS was my little corner of heaven! :rotf:

Nope, it was directed at you, I don't have your actual name, just your forum name so, I didn't know if you knew about the White Smoke Brigade. It was just an FYI. I haven't been to one of their shoots in a while. After my wife passed away, I sort of dropped out of everything. It's time that I start going to some of their shoots. It is about an hour and a half drive from my home in Georgetown so I don't make all of the shoots even in the best of times.
