New Member,

Just got a Ultra Hi Kentucky type flintlock rifle in 45 cal. made by Miroku.
It came from a relative that passed away, and he had it from another relative many years ago.
Had it checked out by a local muzzle loading shop and a new flint made and installed.

I have a .50 cal Hawken rifle for a few years that I have shot with my youngest son.
Very accurate at 100 yards and closer. Haven't shot it any further yet.

I am a soon to be retired Army Small Arms & Artillery Repairman and Platoon Sergeant, NCOIC of the Armament Section.
Turning 60 soon and mandatory retirement.

Hope to learn a little more about these guns that we have and get in some shooting to test them out, maybe even use one for deer hunting this fall and winter, here in central Illinois.
In just the short time I have been on this board and put out a question, I have found out I didn't know enough about what I possessed to be sure.
Not an Ultra Hi Miroku rifle at all, and a member pointed out the correct information within a few minutes to get me on the right road.

Many thanks and I will continue to learn.
