I would most definitely do this and would love it.
I know it's short notice, but we have a shoot this coming weekend (August 25-27) at Brierfield Ironworks State Park. It is just south of Birmingham, AL. It is the last shoot in Alabama for the year.

"Individual" shooting starts Friday around noon and goes to around 5pm. First thing Saturday morning will be a Revolver Team competition, and then it is individuals again till around noon. Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning are team shooting.

If you can come, it is best to come during Individual shooting. This is where people are shooting at paper bullseye targets, and we have lots of time to talk with new people. Once team shooting starts teams are busy shooting or cleaning their guns in between relays.

The November competition is in Eva, TN. That will be the last skirmish for the year.

We have lots of folks from Tennessee that shoot in the Deep South Region. Don't let the team names fool you though - my team is the 4th Louisiana but I've never been to Louisiana. Most of our team members now live in Alabama, but we also have members in Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas.

Shoot me an email through my team's contact us page here:

And I'll get in touch with you on what you need to get started.

Welcome from Minnesota. Lived in Clarksville, TN when I was in the 101st. at Ft. Campbell. I was a civil war reenactor and my Euroarms 1853 Enfield was a very accurate rifle. Could hit a milk jug at 100 yards all day long off hand.

Hi Thomas!

If you enjoy shooting firearms from the American Civil War, check out the North-South Skirmish Association!

We have lots of members that live in Tennessee. Our November skirmish is held in Eva, TN. All the rest are at Brierfield Ironworks State Park, just south of Birmingham, Alabama.

You are in the Deep South region. Here is our web site:

We have a skirmish coming up next weekend, August 27-29, at Brierfield Ironworks State Park. This will be the last competition of the year held at Brierfield. The next skirmish will be in November at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park in Eva, TN.

All teams in the region are looking for new shooters. You only need one gun to participate, and your Armisport Enfield will do the trick!

You can get a replacement rear sight here:
