Howdy gents, been awhile since I posted anything here, been sick the last 2 weeks and after getting bored with TV and movies, decided to get off my dead butt and get this rig put together, have had pieces and parts for this lying around for over a year, the pouch is made from 10/12 oz bison banded with lighter weight cow, sheaths are made from 3 oz veg tan, steel buckle and a pewter button, the knives I made over a year ago and have been in a box waiting for something to do, buffler horn is a large one, will hold over a pound of powder, now if I can just find the time to finish the rifle that this rig is built for! :rotf:

Beaverman, what do ya use to measure out your stitchs, n what type thread are ya useing? They are really nice n even and look great. The eveness of the stitching is what really makes any leather project look nice n clean(professional). Ya done good YMHS Birdman

Thanks for the kind words fellas, Birdman, when I lay out my pattern I allow a 1/4" seam allowance, then I lay out my stitches on the pattern at 1/4" thats 4 per inch sometimes I use 5 per inch, depends on the weight of the leather, I use an awl, to punch through the pattern into the leather to mark the stitch holes and the get at it! Im using commercial 5 strand waxed saddlers thread that I untwist and then use 2 strands of it to stitch, hope this helps, Beav

Beaverman, if you did that work while being sick, I would imagine your work would REALLY be awesome when you are well! Great job. Emery

That outfit looks like it's ready to go the distance, in style.
....the 'beavertails' on the horn straps are a fine touch.

Longshot, figured the tails would match the bag flap and the owner :rotf: , wanted something different on the ends, built it out of heavy enough leathers that if it stays oiled my hopes are my grandson is using it when hes my age!

Looks great, nice job on the pouch. I love those buffalo horns for cool looks as well as capacity.
It looks like you have been as busy as a beaver, man...
