I just called, they said the do not have a taller front sight. I did mention the blackhawk to the young lady that answered the phone and checked with a "technician".

I'll have to make my own.
I am sure they still have the sight. You just need to provide them the part number, then you'll get it. She asked the "technician" about old army parts, which is why he said no. scrub the internet and you'll find the part number. I think I found it on here in the past.

Thanks Mike, but I still don't understand the genius of the design, unless you are referring to the limitations of the manufacturing processes of the period. I was hoping you could help me understand. Thanks.
Yeah it's so genius no magnum level guns are ever made with the original Colt design and the convertible cylinder makers will not warranty plus P or Magnum level loading for them ! It was good for it's era with available steel alloy and black powder loads though.
I enjoy the old technology owning, rebuilding and shooting many open frame guns but I don't deceive myself into believing it's more than it actually is, an inferior design no matter how hard the part changers and tuners want to ignore the facts.
Better alloys have allowed more pressure than the originals could handle but the open frame design will never match closed frame strength.

Such a broken record!! 🤣
Back on the "Magnum train" 😂
"It was good for its era " and it's way better now with its smokeless loads though!!! 😆

Who ever claimed they would and what does that have to do with anything? The Ruger manual says "no reloads" !!!! Still gonna shoot your "big" loads? 🤣

Even though I and many others shoot modern smokeless in our reproductions today!! 🙄

What deception? I shoot 21K + in mine all the time!! In fact that's the minimum they shoot!! You sir are delusional. I don't really know what "parts changers" you're talking about ( you?) but THIS tuner shoots what he says he shoots and your "FACTS" aren't worth spit!!

Already has . . . and better!!!
🤣🤣

Once again he shows that he doesn't understand the platform. And again the argument here is taking that turn away from the original statement, and what was said about the closed frame vs open frame. It applies mainly to Remington vs Colt open top designs. The open top is a stronger design over the Remmie. Remington had to come up with a pistol to compete with Colt who had already basically cornered the market. Take a look at your Remington especially around the loading rammer. That frame is pretty thin in that area, look at the top strap where the rear sight groove is cut, it's another thin area. It wasn't about this is stronger, it was something to do with patent infringement and production.

Actually your the ones demonstrating a complete ignorance of the design strengths and weaknesses with absurd assertions you can't prove and expect all the rest to accept as fact just because you say so !
All you have to do is keep increasing pressure to 30-32 K for a good round count and prove your contentions.

Actually, quite the opposite. (broken record).

(Broken record)
😂 why not 45 - 50K ?

Mine is the fixed sight model. It shoots a little high and to the left. I just use Kentucky windage on all my revolvers, and I get close enough for me.
