A few months ago I posted on the Classified Firearms forum that I wanted to buy a TC rifle for my nephew. A member here graciously sold me a TC Hawken in .45 cal and I was able to gift it to the lad at Christmas time when I was back in my home country visiting my folk. Thought I would share a picture of the newest blackpowder shooter in my circle. Mason "Half-pint"!

Great photo. I love the 'serious' expression as he poses with the rifle. Reminds me of some tintypes from the Civil War as the new soldier proudly poses with his weapon(s). Man, he is going to have so much fun with that T/C. Thanks for sharing that.

I wish someone had gifted me something like that at his age. I have owned a lot of TC's over the years and they all have served me well. I have some very nice custom built rifles, but I think I could probably start over with a rifle like that young man has and be quite happy. My TC's have always treated me right and I could start over with one again.

Yeah he's pretty excited. He has an older brother (21) that can supervise him when he gets out to shoot it. I gave him some lead, a bullet mold, caps and a pound of lead. His brother had already ordered a lee lead pot. Think we got a convert. I hope it sticks for life

When I was Half Pint's age, all my Pop and I had was a thin Dixie Gun Works catalog kept in the john. Somehow I knew that muzzleloaders were in my future. They were.
