Hello all, I am a hunter in New England and decided to get into muzzleloading to get out before all the rifle hunters. Ordered a CVA Accura rifle and have been researching bullets and powder. To reduce the amount of cleaning, I am considering Powerbelts and either Blackhorn or White Hots. Have some Blackhorn powder, powder ”vials” CCI 209 primers, and scale to weigh out 100gn vials for a start when new gun arrives. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Bob

It’s a traditional site.
We can be welcoming but the advice you’ll get is related to wood stocks, octagon barrels, side lock round balls and traditional fare.
Don’t think your modern black powder substitute is a cure for cleaning. Clean your gun like you have to face inspection by a marine drill Sargent every time you shoot. It will pay dividends in good preformsnce

I offer you a genuine welcome, but I think you will be best served by signing up at this forum's modern muzzleloader sister site: Modern Muzzleloader where such guns can be freely discussed. I hate to temper a welcome with an admonition, as it can come across the wrong way and make the welcome seem less than genuine. That's not my intent at all, and if the traditional bug does bite you at some point, we're all here to help answer any questions we can. :thumb:

Whoa man, way above my head with all this fancy talk. I bet the modern muzzle loading site can better understand, but hey you will eventually get bit by the traditional bug, maybe even a rock ignition. Welcome, you will be back.

I had an online once. A nef single barrel with a collapsible rammer.
It was a royal pain in the a$$!
The answer to a question nobody asked!
I got shot of it very quickly. It's a form of prostitution in my opinion.
