Hello to all from Millersville, Maryland. New to Muzzleloading only have used one once hunting. Don't own my own muzzleloader but definitely looking to get one and learn some things from here on the forum.

I'm interested in Flintlock. I used to use my father's Thompson Center Seneca .45 Cal Flintlock and I like the Flintlock over a Percussion Cap. I am trying to look for a real long flintlock rifle.

Buy a top notch kit and build it yourself.
Ive been shooting hole black since the 70s and there is not a production gun Id tell anyone to buy.
Cept maybe a Parker Hale Whitworth.

Ditto on Johnny Tremain's post. A top-notch kit that even I can build would be a Kibler SMR or Colonial. I have the Colonial and it is a great rifle.

What is a Kibler SMR ? I've never built a kit before, is this something for a beginner ?

I didn't even know there was a fair like this in Maryland. I definitely will have to check it out if I don't find a rifle by then.
