New to these parts and in Chattanooga. I acquired a pile of guns and ammo, to include Uberti Santa Fe .54 cal from Lakeville, CT and several others.

If I’m reading the two letters on the square box correctly, your Uberti is a 1993 model.
Verify the bore diameter, as these were marked .54 caliber but actually require a .520 ball. I don’t know if this was changed on later guns like yours.

Dirtroadhound, without seeing the whole gun including the bore, it is hard to give a value. Neither is over 50 years old so not an old antique. I would personally put a little more value on the Uberti, Santa Fe. It is more "Hawkenish" than the Thompson Center. But there is a lot of people that love the Thompson Center guns too. I see these guns sell from $200 to $450 dollars pretty regularly. But you see an occasional one sell for $100 and one sell for $600. No rhythm or reason.

The rhyme and reason is the uncertainty that stems from both future regulation fear and concern over what the US dollar will be worth a week from now. Many have lost half or more of the value of their life savings in last 2-3 years and buying anything that appears to hold value.

I hadn't noticed the box date code, looks like BC.
I didn't know the Santa Fe Hawken was still in production that long, always figured it was NLA by mid to late 80"s.

New to me too, should be square box stamped, usually on the left barrel flat, with 2 capitol letters inside the box that are the date code.
May have to remove the barrel from stock to see it depending on how it was stamped.

To get back to checking to see if a ML rifle is loaded I fairly recently purchased 2 from gunbroker and had same concern as Rancocas and Eterry. I measured with the ramrod as said but also removed the nipples from both and inserted a white pipe cleaner thru the fire channel into the barrel which I was able to see in the barrel using a bore light This was tough with one as its a .32 but could just barely see the pipe cleaner , I could see it much easier with my .50. Both are fairly short barreled t/c’s , 21 ” and 24” barrels. Not sure if anyone else has tried this but it made me a little more confident I wasn’t going to blow my face off

Dirtroadhound, if you are wanting to sell those you will not have a problem getting rid of them. They both look from the pictures like they are in good condition. Sites like this one are a good place to sell them. The last place to sell them would be a pawn shop. If you feel like you are interested in muzzleloaders, I wouldn't sell them. Both guns should be good shooters and both guns are great for hunting deer and the like. Muzzleloading is a fun sport and most in the muzzleloading community are willing to help out. I will warn you.... you may end up with more guns and stuff related than you expect. Shoot them and have fun. The value of a gun can also be measured in the amount of enjoyment it is to shoot.

The Santa Fe is one of the better early production guns styled after an original Hawken. The Thompson is a great hunting gun, but not really styled like a Hawken. Either 1 will shoot round ball very well!
