New Toy

Many of you know custom gun builder Mike Brooks. I went to visit his new Web-Site (www.fowlingguns.com) to brouse around. Well, I should not have done that. I pulled up the section "For Sale" and there was an English Officers Fusil with my name written all over it. Of course, I had to have it, and now own it. This is my first view of a Mike Brooks firearm. I can't believe the incredible quality, and an antique finish that must have required a lot of practice. Now, if the weather here would just get below 98 degrees I can go test fire her. I don't know how to post pictures (have to get my brother's help) but I think it's still on his Web-Site if anyone would like to see it. I do recommend his work highly. :thumbsup:

Ricky 98 why only half of Texas could shoot if they had to wait until it got below 98. Anyway for half of the year.
Now you know why I don't go to Mikes website. If I did I would be like you have a new toy or two. Save enough money and I will just call and order one as I know he would make what ever you want and it would be as good as any anywhere.

Thanks for the responses. Silver Fox: I get to Texas often on business. You're right, it's always hot there. Mike C: The correct balls and patching should be here from TOTW by Thursday. Meantime, making an extra cleaning/range rod so I can take her out this weekend - heat or not. Been at or near 100 every weekend in August in the lower Midwest. Mike B: Thanks again for the great work. And, I purchased a gun from Mike Brooks, and received it in 3 days. That has to be a record too! :haha:

Hey ricky,
Have you had a chance to fire off a few with that new English fowler? It was a beauty. My son has a Brooks gun on order and if I were not trying to save to pay for 3 in college at one time in a few years Mike would have two orders from our address!
