All I know about flintlock shooting I've learned from this group. But I have to ask what's a wonderwad and why would one use one? What's IMO stand for?
I have finally got the gun to fire and am trying to get consistant groups at 50 yd with a 45cal Pedasoli Penn using a .015 patch and round ball and 55 g ff goex. Swab between shots, currently shooting off of sandbag.
I certainly have learned that the devils in the details.

Welcome....don't know about wonderwads, but IMO means "In My Opinion". Then there's IMHO (...Humble Opinion). You got one thing right....the devil is DEFINITELY in the details. :agree:

Wonderwads are pre-lubed felt wads that go between the powder and the ball. Some swear by them, others at them. Only way to know if they are right for you would be to try some and see if they improve your accuracy.
