I'm making a two-piece brass muzzle cap out of sheet metal for my Kentucky pistol. I have the tube formed around the stock and the end cap fitted to the inside of the tube. Now I need to solder the end cap onto the tube. Do most of you solder on the inside or the outside? What kind of solder should I use? How do I do it (I told you this was a newbie post)?

W/ the end cap inside the "tube", I use light bailing wire at the front and rear {not too tight here} and apply flux on the inside joint and lay some hi temp 1/16" silver solder wire also on the inside. Heat is applied, using A Mapp gas torch, from the outside to "draw" the solder thru to the outside. I use the low temp solder occasionally, but not in this application.......Fred
