Hi to all. I'm re-entering the world of flintlock rifle hunting. I grew up hunting with my Dad. He always measured the powder and set up speed loads so all I had to do was shoot. He passed away and now i have so much to learn. I think it's great that this resource is here for people like me. I am using a .50 cal TC Hawken (I now own three!). Any advice is welcome. Happy shooting!

We're here for ya! I know that feeling as my dad passed away in '98. Still wish I could go deer hunting with him. He had such a wealth of knowledge.
Welcome to MLF! :hatsoff:

Howdy, friend. My dad passed away in '96. It was the same way. For years I tried to teach myself the hard way. Not very successful. I recently started going to an old family friend who's been so helpful. This forum has been just as helpful, and I've only been a member for a week!

Howdy and welcome aboard! This is a great resource alright. More importantly, it's a really fun place to hang out and meet folks with similar interests. :)

Thanks to all for your welcome and encouragement. I just went out and shot the rifle for the first time in years. Youch! Lotta work to do.
