Another beauty Horner!!! Cornplanter was raised just a few miles from here, a place called Canawaugus, meaning stinky waters I believe, due to the sulpher springs near by.

All good, but that 4th photo is the best! I especially like the Lion and Unicorn. This was often badly done on the originals and is often over-done in reproductions. I have been contemplating an early horn with that seal and your vision for improving the unicorn is very similar to my own sketches. Your lion is far better. You have a very pleasing balance in this particular element.

I also like the treatment of the owl-like eyes leading down to the beak like item from the decorative upper border in the same photo. Subtle and interesting.

Finally, the dye/aging is also not over done - you have found the right balance in many areas.

A lot of words to say that I like it.

Rick I want to tell you that is about the fineest horn I have seen. The design is extremely well thought out and the craftsmanship is truly beautiful. That is a work of art for sure. That horn takes me back to another topic that was going a few days back. Use it? Or, Hang it on the wall? It is almost too beautiful to use!!! :bow: :bow: :bow: :bow: :bow:
