There is a nice Deerstalker on www.autionarms.com for sale with Lyman peeps.
I have one I "stole" for 140 bucks and it's a dandy shooter.
Also one might check the classified photo section of this forum (top of page) there are some nice bargains there including a Tree Hawk Mossy Oak .50 T/C that is a tack driver. Some really nice guy is ::almost givng the thing away.

Could you give us computer dummies another little clue, please? The clicker you gave took me to a page of links.

Trying Auction and Auctions and others took me to more pages of links including Police Auctions. A search for Deerstalker took me to more links.

Thanks,

GrayBear

I couldn't help myself I bought it. I've wanted a ml with peep sights a long time.

Good for you!
I really like mine. It's short, handy, and above all, ACCURATE!
Let us know how it shoots. The only thing mine won't shoot is the really long heavy bulltes, i.e. over 400 grains.
Congrates! I think I'll get a peep for my own Deerstalker.

My plan is to start with PRB's. I want to experiment with conicals in this and a TC with the 1:48 twist. I think the best performance will be with short conicals. My belief is that the twist is a little fast for consitently good PRB performance but to slow for big conicals. Maxi-hunters, for example, are available in 275 gr. weights, I think that should be a good place to start. I think that accuracy with different projectiles might be darn good, but the round must be stabilized well to perform in game. I believe this is what Daryl was refering to when talking about these twists with conicals against moose.
If any has experience to confirm or kill this theory I would love to hear it.

My Deerstalker shoots quite well with 40 to 50 grains of black 2fg and the p.r.b. lubed with Crisco, pillow ticking was the patch material.
I got one hole 5 shot groups at 25 yards, and 1.5" at 50 yards with the issued factory sights. That front white globe looks like a bowling ball and covers at least two acres at 50 yards. ::
It performed well with 90 grains 2fg black and the PowerBelt 245 and 295 grain copper h.p. with a slight edge going to the 245 grainer wtih 2.5" groups at 100 being the norm.
The 370 grain Maxi was a good 'nuff performer with 3" groups at 100 yards and the same powder charge.
The real surpise is this little gun does all this with NO CHANGE in sights! NONE. I never touched the sights once.
The 245 PowerBelts shot about 1" high at 50 and 2" low at 100, the Maxi went about 3.5" low at 100 I did not try heavier loads with the r.b. nor did I shoot the r.b. at 100 yards.
Amazingly the little dream shot the T.C. CheapShot 240 all lead sabots just as well as it performed with PowerBelts.
This rifle has absolutely NO SNOB appeal, it simply performs and performs well in it's role as a "traditional in spirit" caplock.

You just can't resist getting in your *** about "Traditional" vs "Modern" can you. :shake:
