SALE PENDING FINAL STRESS TEST This is an early Dixie Gun Works rifle. It is a Flintlock .45 Southern style rifle and barrel was made in Belgium. SN 341. It has gorgeous stock that shines green and gold from minerals in wood. I was told it might be European Sycamore. It has a German Silver thumbpiece. Case colored lock sparks well. Barrel tang also case colored. Other fittings brass. All of the details seem to be a step above most DGW offerings at the time. It was listed in Dixie Catalog#126 in 1977 as "The New Dixie Squirrel Rifle, DPR-01" Wt 10 lbs, 40 inch barrel .45 cal .007 rifling 1/48 twist. Overall condition is Very Good Plus. It would be Near Excellent if not for repaired crack at toe and what looks like a very stable (repaired?) crack on left side of wrist. LOP 13 1/8". Rifle appears unfired. $475 + Shipping.
