Hey All!!! I am so intrigued by this sport and encouraged by all of your help. I was wondering if anyone knows what size threads are on the nipple for my Investarms Hawken .50Cal.(Italian) And the best place to get a new or spare nipple.

Also, I just came across a "Nipple Charger" for sure-fire shots? Is this a common practice and does charging the nipple help? Pros/Cons?

Thanks again, guys!!!!!!!

It takes a metric nipple threaded 6 x .75.

A nipple charger is not needed. As long as you keep the flash channel clean and dry you'll have sure fire ignition. Of course other things come into play such as powder type, caps..etc.

IMO a nipple charger is a gimmick and waste of money.

I'm with Huntin Dawg. It's just an unneeded gimmick. Maybe there are some folks using substitute powders and having problems getting it to light who could use it. It certainly won't improve ignition with real black powder unless the gun has a problem of some sort that needs to be fixed.

Yea, made to sell not to work, IMO. In the same category as fishing lures that are meant to catch fishermen more than bass.

i agree with Dawg, & co. ... another gadget to seperate us from our hard earned, overtaxed dollars.

(if you shoot real black you don't need it- spend the money you save on more powder and shot and you'll be having more fun... it will cure bad breath, hair loss, and wait, there's more...)
