I figured out the foam earplug thing decades ago. Never heard of any one else doing it. Works great on anything with a hammer.I would only dry fire if the hammer can not strike the nipple. The foam in the hammer slot is a good idea. I didn't find out that my Remington Target revolver by EuroArms was designed to allow dry firing until I put 6 CCI #11 caps on the nipples and none of them fired. I did get the revolver to fire with CCI #11 Magnum caps. I found nipples with longer cones at Track of the Wolf and properly sized for #11 caps, so no more dry firing for me.
Makes Snap Caps a waste of money for most uses.
