I'd also wager heavily that the TMA has had no impact whatsoever on the NMLRA.

I think the NMLRA should release a "press statement" or the like to address this issue. Afterall, Mr. Miller did hold a VP level position.

If either the NMLRA board, Mr. Miller or both deemed a change is required, then so be it. Changes happen and are inevitable.

I appreciate the NMLRA. Greatly.

How many of the NMLRA members even know about the TMA? Unless the disenchanted NMLRA members are flocking to the TMA, I doubt if the TMA has any impact. We haven't seen a big surge, have we?

Back to my question, who is this dude and how is he responsible for declining membership?

"

He was the Executive Vice President of the NMLRA.
IMO, He had nothing to do with the declining membership. That's been going on for a long time.

Although there are several of our members that will disagree with me, I don't think I've seen anything that he published in MuzzleBlasts (The NMLRA Magazine) that looked like he wasn't 100 percent behind the orginazation or the effort to build membership.

I doubt that we will ever know what Really went on behind the closed doors, and I don't think his absence will have a major impact on the association either.

Of course, if we want to speculate, how about: He was for throwing out all of the ads for and articles about Inline Guns so he could get back the folks who had left?
When the other members heard of this idea, they, all being Inline Shooters promptly fired him!! :: ::
Korse, thay all kalled me afore tha did this ta get ma blessin!!! At's whi Ah knows allll about this thin!! :: ::

IMHO,.... the TMA (still in it's infancy) has had no ill-effect on NMLRA membership (nor should it).

However,.... any TMA member wish'n to ask a question of the "goin's on" within the TMA, warrants a prompt reply.

The board let him go this past Saturday for a lot of different reasons and not one thing. Membership is way down and there's very little they can do about it. Other cutbacks will be made and other will leave.
It's truely sad because they're a great organization. But they've been running it like a club and not a company. Plus, they hurt a lot of feeling a few years ago and the wounds haven't heal.
Hopefully this will cause them to tighten their belts and get them back on the right track. NMRLRA has been the backbone on muzzleloading shooting for a long time and I have no reason to think they won't be in the future.

This is the Second EVP of the NMLRA. The 1st on cost the Organization about $500.000,00 this one cost the Organization about $750,000.00. Salary, Benefits, Bonuses, Shot Show Adventure, NRA Conventions Adventure, Expense Account, Retirement Plan, etc. Sweet CONTRACT, and Compensation Package.

The EVP Position as I understood it was the guy who was the person who ran the Organization on a Day to Day BASIS.

Think NMLRA Membership before they hire the First EVP was 25,000, not it is estimate to be 17,000.

Besides General Membership Number being down Charter Club affiliation in down to about 225 Clubs, from approx. 375 Clubs.

Also I understand the Two National Shoots at Friendship are down in number of shooter, traders, and paid visitors. Western Shoots is also on the slide is the same categories.

Muzzle loading is not dying, Buck Skinning is not dying, and you only to see the number of people interested in both on the many Message Boards and Forums.

Think the NMLRA is still living, and being operated like it was 1933 when they were formed.

I heard they took a big loan on the Friendship Property several years ago to build a World Class K.O.A. Type Camping Ground. Apparently no one is using the facility with the exception of the time of their Nationals Shoots.

Also back in 1999, 0r 2000 they had a Big Name Country Singer (Ricky Skaggs if i recall) come to Friendship that was going to be a Big Money Maker, but apparently the event was not publicized in the Major Cities around Friendship so few came.

OK, I give up... what is the TMA?? I have never heard of it. I was a member of the NMLRA for a few years some time ago and left for a number of reasons and none in peticular.

The post is no longer available. Can you capsulize it?

It was just a simple statement if information posting the fact that the (then) current NMLRA president had unexpectedly announced his resignation...I have no idea why this year old thread has resurfaced, to say nothing of the fact the the opening post is now missing...

I can explain it. This is a recent post of mine in the "Using the forum." threads

Have you ever watched Quantum Leap? We have this whole time/space thing happening here all the time. For some reason though the time travel only goes backwards and not forward on this forum so anything you read or post would never be from tomorrow but only from yesterday or today.

The fact that you don't see it today may not mean you will not see it tomorrow because we can only see stuff that already occured and what you saw may have been meant for tomorrow so you cant see it today.

However if it was posted for today but meant for tomorrow the same event will not be seen till then and in some cases not for weeks to come.

We have moderators that do go back in time though and alter the future as to keep events that happened today from occuring tomorrow. When that happens what happened yesterday never happened in the first place so why worry about it.
