I belong to the nmlra, a couple shooting friends also belong, we all noticed all the non traditional guns and articles in the magazine. I know they don't cater to just trad. guns. I am just curious as to the percentage of members that belong, traditional shooters, hunters, versus modern inline shooters, hunters. I would guess a very small percentage that belong are inline shooters. Anybody know? flinch

I am a NMLRA member as well, have noticed the same thing. I am not troubled by it at all. I am just glad they are getting the money for the advertisment. I don't know how many of the group are in-line shooters, I suspect it is pretty small. I am sure that the traditional gun makers and parts supply houses have already put in what ads they can in the magazine. The profits of just one of these in-line companies probably dwarfs all of these traditional companies combined, so they can afford the high dollar ads. If that is what it takes to keep the NMLRA afloat - so be it. Now if I start seeing ads for Remington 700's, they will be geting a call.

You all need to check out the "Traditional Muzzleloading Under Attack/Toby Bridges" category.....

I get some conservative periodicals and everyonce in awhile they have some weird advertisements from sources you would not expect to see in there. It's advertisement dollars that put them there. I noticed the add for an inline in at least the last two Muzzleblasts and the same add is in some other gun magazines. I'm in the NMLRA and the NRA and I see some similar ads.

Personally, I would like to see some ads for Remington 1700's.

I started off with "Muzzle Blast" and got fed up with Civil War and inline hunting..not to mention tons of advertizing..I switched to Muzzle Loading
Mag. and have never regretted that change...

You know, actually, in contradiction to some of my earlier positions, I think we traditionalists are in a good position to take back "full control" of the NMLRA. We need to vote for traditionalist board members and support the traditionalists that are there (and, like myself, need to actually find out who they are!). The organization's embracing of modern muzzlelader shooters I don't think has panned out, and my FEELING is that perhaps some in charge realize that it has offended and alienated more people than it has drawn in....heck, they have to know that. Anyone who looks at the message boards can see that!

It's worth a shot, and all those in the organizataion need to be sure to support a traditional-only position. Again, my FEELING is that if the NMLRA takes a strong position against Mr. Bridges and the scopes and no roundball thing, it could well help to soothe the hurt feelings felt by many traditionalists.

See how capricious I can be? I can turn on a dime, baby. :winking:

soooooo, it looks to me that the one with the most money gets the adds, you know who I am talking about. flinch
