No hogs today but woke up to this!

No hogs sunday morning when i went passed on a good buck and had 7 young does in front of me. Took off work sunday night and this was what i woke up to. My Part of East TX 10 inches of snow at my place. Monday i spent all day reflecting on my younger years born in Indiana raised in upstate Ny during my teens. Thought of hunting and getting pictures with the smokepole but making snowmen and showing friends sledding was much needed. This was a great break fromlistening to poletics and negativity

When i first got up i was gung ho to go hunt hogs in the snow a good chance of shooting one. Then i started looking for thermals fleece anything warm... to no avail i had only sweatshirts a fleece stocking cap. A day playing in the snow made me appreciate TX that much more. Ive gotten wimpy in my old age

About five inches in the Texas Panhandle of very dry snow. Glad I had quail hunted the day before! Think I’ll wait till spring to wage war against the pigs.....

And all those snowbirding RVer's down there left the North to get to the warmth of Texas!!!

The older I get, the more I "think" I don't like the cold and snow. But, it certainly has a beauty all it's own, doesn't it?

Mr. spikebuck yes sir the beauty is what had me reflecting the first couple hours debating going after hogs or deer. as a kid in Northern Indiana about every November 13th deer season started we always had snow on the ground. my only deer muzzleloading kill was taken then, i moved to upstate NY about 26 miles from Canada the blizzards up there were something else but got my first black bear in the adirondaks, near a town called Croghan NY it was also known as bear town. 1986 i moved to Texas, 1995 i moved to East Texas. while the snow is beautiful and the thought of hunting in it is appealing ive just gotten wimpy no excuses i just dont desire the snow and cold anymore

Sat at my work table sewing a bag and watching it snow here all day Sunday. It was pretty but I'm glad I live south of the Red River and we dont have this very often!

Snow is gorgeous, wonderful, exciting … while you're sitting in a warm house fondling that Hawken you built last spring. I spent my frozen butt hunting time in Alaska and Idaho. Oklahoma ain't bad. Polecat

Hmmmm. I really like winter and the winter sports but this year is disappointing. We’re having a very mild winter so far this year in New Hampshire. No ice fishing, no snow shoeing, no sledding with the grand kids....boo hoo!!!

Had a White Christmas in nw PA then it melted. I’m ok with it, still cold but above freezing
