PA "Primitive Season " is flintlock with open sights only, only using round ball or PA Ball-et bullets by Hornady , but people still use those hideous Traditions Hunter things with the plastic stocks that are supposed to be able to ignite Pyrodex pellets

No, it isn't a " primitive season". Its a flintlock historical season, hence no orange requirements.Aperture sights may be used and ammunition is limited to single projectile only. No brand of conical was ever specified. And , when originally instituted, conicals were permitted.
But yes, the after Christmas season is flintlock only. In Special Regs counties, and some w.m.u.s, there is also an extended antlerless deer season.
I don't like Tupperware stocks either. But some folk can not afford anything else, or don't want to drop a mortgage payment on a rifle until they're sure they're gonna like it.
Baby steps...

I lived in Pa for 27 yrs but not now. I know there was a Regular season (rifle etc) a Muzzleloading season, (any kind) and a Primitive season, only historically based flinters etc. It may have changed over the years.

Sad when I heard they were taken out. I have one of their unmentionable guns and it has been good to me.
