I have a better solution, why do we not make this a true "pay to play" website, get rid of the stupid ads as well as some of the worthless trolls?
I find it hard to believe that people could not pay to join this site after say a free 90 day trial or something similar. Anyway this is not the right area of the forum for this. I am asking that one of the site moderaters please PM me so we can discuss. I for one am willing to pay more or "give" more to get rid of the stupidity. I do mind the modern muzzleloader reference ads when our site explicitly forbids discussion of them or modern cartridge style firearms. Yes, it is very hypocritical to say do not discuss these style firearms but at the same time show ads for them. Yes I block the ads but the top ads on the header bar still come through and like another member posted if you block all the ads you may miss the ones that do deal with this site. For me it destroys the integrity of this Traditional Muzzle Loading website.Anyway I will be asking a moderator some questions.

Yes it is a ML, considered an inline using a 209 primer. I believe that the H&R break open ML are not discussed on here due to the same reason...

By all means let's form a group where we can discuss all the advantages and delights of the 18th century and how we should live exactly as they did...
But we'll all have to go outside... they had no air conditioning. Unplug your refrigerator, it didn't exist. Turn off the electricity in your house. We'll have to write it on paper with pencil...laptops, ipads, desktops, androids, iPhones and any other electronic device is 300 years away.
Hope you have a strong stomach. You used an outhouse and pooped in a bucket after dark.
It'll be slow going, you'll have to get rid of your car, maybe buy a horse.
If you have more than one child kiss them bye... the mortality rate was about that high.
Don't have allergies, diabetes, or any chronic illness, it'll be deadly.
Measles, mumps, cholera, and a dozen other illnesses kept the population down.

I simply find that grown adults can find the time to get all bent out of shape of a gun thats projectile is loaded from the muzzle but goes by a different name.

Been here awhile and do enjoy the site,but alas I am not a paying member(fixed income and a wife with major medical problems) its about the money if those sites add a income to keep the site going I am all for it. With the current finical situation for everything with inflation why gripe just ignor the adds that you disagree with.

Well, go for it. I'm sure I won't be missed, surely not by the, "if it is made of period materials is must be period correct," crowd.
I won't be buying any gear for a while, will be struggling with gas, truck payments, insurance (vehicle, don't have health insurance anymore), c.c. bills, rent, phone, and food, for, the foreseeable future,,,, certainly no funds for a "pay-to-play," web forum.
Question. If it were made a pay sight, how will you get rid of the so called, "trolls," and, "flamers," then? They will still be around. Lots of folks out there with more money than brains, more money than reason, more money than respect for other people. Will charging for access get rid of them, or just make them harder to get rid of?

I can bicker with the neighbor for no costs on political issues...why pay to get the same here? I will not change too many years in. Long after im gone someone will still be shooting BP and deliberating on such. However it does not take the value from many posters on here and the things they contribute. However should this turn into a Shyte show I will back out and leave it to itself.It will be not worth the time. I hope it does not arrive at that particular Station.
Remember Claude (the original forum owner for those that have not been around very long) addressing non traditional muzzleloading advertisements years ago. Nothing new. They are an income stream for the forum based on number of views and/or click-throughs. Something for forum ownership/management to worry about. Subject matter for topics is something for the members and moderators to manage. Don’t see how this topic has anything to do with traditional muzzleloading, let alone smoothbores. Serious need for a quick @Zonie flyby to knock some heads together, to use his words….

Shoot, I'd rather see that little shotgun ad rather than the planned Parenthood ads that have been showing up every time I log in. I assume that is simply from the website host but I think it's pretty ironic placement.
