Non Traditional Tent at Traditional Events

I asked about rules at revendezvous activities, and got a rude reply. Unless I owned a wall tent or ti pi, and wore period clothes they wanted me out of there except when the public came in to look around. I can't afford $3,000 for all the stuff, so I won't worry about attending any again. Seems to be a high priced club. Not my style.
