Just wondering if anyone has built it and could tell me approximately how long it took you. I have never built a gun and was wondering if it is worth the $400 savings in building my own. I understand there is a certain level of satisfaction associated with one's work but i don't want to commit to something I can't complete.

Thanks

I finished one that was in the white. Keep in mind it isn't a copy of anything.

If you get an "In the White" kit, the gun is already fitted and assembled. It can be fired in this condition. The only thing you usually have to do is clean up and finish the metal and sand and finish the wood.

These are nice started type kits. It will allow you to see how these guns are put together but saves you the work of fitting everything.

I'm putting together the bucks for one of their Northwest Trade Guns. I will probably get one in the white just for the time savings over building one from parts.

The very first gun I built was a NSW Early English in maple. Fairly easy to do with a basic knowledge of woodworking and finishing techniques. Since it was my first gun, I spent plenty of time on it (~40 or so hours). It came out well and I still shoot it today. The lock sparks like crazy and the gun is made to be used.
