I want to build a trade gun from a North Star West kit has anyone built one from their kit,I am just wondering how difficult it is and if I might be biteing off more than I can chew.I have only built Lyman and TC kit's in the past ..Thanks ..rusty

Sir,
The very first kit I ever built was a NSW Early English. I did it with little more that a 1/4in chisel, a small curved chisel, a few home-made scrapers, an X-acto knife and sandpaper. You will have to final fit the parts as it is ~90% inlet, but it is not impossible. The drawing was clear and you can call up Matt and he will help you over the phone. If you have basic wood-working skills, you shouldn't have many/any problems (The maple stock made it more difficult, as the chisels wanted to follow the grain, walnut is easier).
