Hello All,
I've had a Officers model fusil that I bought from North Star about 10 years ago...
It's taken me this long to figure out that the main spring was just a little weak. Not really weak, but just weak enough to drive me nuts sometimes...
The gun would spark when clean and warm, but after a few shots it would have a hard time sparking... :curse:
Once, after treating the lock with bore butter in the oven as a anti-rust treatment, I couldn't get my fusil to spark when the temp dropped below 50 degrees... :shake: Sparked like a champ in the warm house but not outside in cooler weather.
When I called North Star last week and left a message on the answering machine. Matt called me back later that day and offered me to things:
1.A replacement mainspring at no charge.
2.To send the lock back to be tuned if the spring didn't work...
Wow... all this for a TEN YEAR OLD FIREARM!
I got the spring on Friday, fitted it to the lock plate and got out to the range today for a afternoon of troublefree shooting (What a nice change.. I was due a good day at the range...)
So, when it come to Matt Denison and North Star standing behind their guns... :master: they can't be beat in my eyes. :hatsoff:
