Just got it in the mail. It is an unfired GPR from 1994. Nice looking rifle. Only thing is it is missing the clean out screw and the nipple looks like it has been dry fired on.
Anyone know what thread size the clean out screw is and what length so I don't have to carry the barrel in the hardware store, and should I get a brass or steel one?
Is there any issues with these old rifles?

Hi,
I changed the clean out screw on mine.
It is metric, I went to the hardware store, and tried different ones, until I found one that fits.
The slot head screws suck, get an allen set screw and it will always be easy to remove. I would put some "Never Seize" on the screw to make future removal easy.
I hope this helps!
I just can't remember the screw size

I got a 3-pack of nipples from Lyman pretty cheap and they have all of the parts. Service is slow at times so you can chuck up the nipple and hold a flat file against it to remove the flat rim. By the way I doubt if a barrel would scare anyone in a hardware store. you could wrap it in a towel if you think they would freak! Geo. T.

Its steel. Its metric. Take the barrel into the store, your not doing anything illegal by carrying a gun part into a hardware store. I really doubt that anyone will even know what it is.
