 Spent a lot of time in the basement the last few weeks. This one measures 13" along the curve, is 2-1/2" in diameter at the base. Butt plug is mahogany, finished with paste wax. Dyed the entire horn with onion skins & apple cider vinegar.

Nice work Soggy! I have never figured out how to do one of those horns with the turned rings applied. That looks tedious. How do you do that?

I don't know if this is how others do it, but this is what I did. I had to cut up another perfectly good horn :cursing: :cursing: to get the two rings. I then forced them down over the end of the horn until they were tight. I marked this location, slipped the rings back up the horn a little way, applied some good waterproof glue, and then slid the rings back down. When the rings were where I wanted them I drilled the rings and inserted wooden pegs (tooth picks) in the center grooves. The grooves are cut in with a fine hack-saw blade. Don't know if this is correct (P/C) or not , but that's how I done it.
