I finally found an Underhammer pistol to fondle. I found it at a local Pawn shop. It is a Numrich Hopkins and Allen Underhammer in .45 cal. Its going to take me a while to get used to its looks.
Of particular interest to me is how the nipple was counter sunk into the barrel. I've toyed with the idea for an underhammer rifle I have where the barrel is too thick for the hammer to strike correctly.
I've been told by FW that this may be an original because there is a tab on the front of the mainspring which touches the trigger.
