Bought this long Officers type pistol a couple of weeks back. Percussion conversion at sometime. Barrel is 12" long, with a .65 bore. I reckon a date of c.1780, what do you gentleman think?

What do you designate as “officers’ about the gun.
Officers were not always rich and didn’t always have ‘too of the line’ guns, is there a military history to this gun? Was it owned by an officer?
What ever it’s history it’s a cutie

I'm refering to this gun as a possible 'Officers' pistol, because of the large size of the bore (.65), allowing the use of Military issue ammunition, something that Officers pistols were designed to utilise.
