Shot this yeaterday, 25 yards, off hand, .54 cal 110 grs. FF, can't remember the patch thickness, lubed with Wonder Lube. Two consecutive shots from my late Lancaster. Thought I'd tear the stump apart to collect the balls, and this is what I found. Just to let you know, I fired eight shots fom my .54, and ten from my .32.
TO anyone who thinks it, NO CHEATING HERE! My wife witnessed it.

THis is just a warning to the young hot heads.
I hadn't shot my rifles since last winter, and was needing the practice. But I think I impressed myself.
I got a whole month, what's the hurry? I need practice!

We woulda been more impressed if there was 8 .54s and 10 .32s stacked up there, but that'll do ...for an old guy. :haha:

Pretty good shootin' Mike.

Just out of curiosity, how are the targets scored? I have never done any competitive shooting, and have no idea how you would score a target. Here's how I did mine from yesterday:
Measured each hole from the center, divided by three. And then measured extreme spread.

The only reason I want to know is to score the targets from yesterday. I have never shot for score, and wouldn't know if the score is good anyway.

Not even that complicated Mike. We will measure each shot from center of the hole to center of the paper. Then we add all 3 together for your score. At the end we will add all the scores for each team and divide by the number of targets to get the average for each team.

On the paper will be pretty good for your team. :rotf:

Seriously, everybody just shoot the best you can shoot and that's good enough. It's all about having fun. :hatsoff:

I don't want to hear someone bitchin that I was off a thousands in measuring because they measured before sending their target in when all the scores are posted! Measurements by team captains are final!

Sorry Swampy, I should have put that in the rules at the beginning.
I just went back and clarified that in red on the original post of the rules.

Sometimes these targets can be pretty darn hard to measure. Especially if there are overlapping holes. It would be hard for 2 different people using 2 different measuring devices to come up with the exact same measurement to the .001 of an inch. :surrender:
There's no gold anyway.
