On the old "Grizzly Adams" show back in the 70's (yeah, I loved it as a small child), "Mad Jack" the mountain man friend of Adams had some sort of muzzleloading rifle. I even remember an episode where he was at a rendezvous shoot. Also, the early episodes of "little House on the Praire" show Michael Landon's character doing some hunting with a half-stock plains type rifle. In later episodes, he used a lever-action repeater. :wink:
 
Great story (Link) on Fess Parker's rifle as Davy Crockett. I am a big fan of that series too. . .enjoyed reading about the rifle.
