I am finishing a rifle I have. I noticed there is a wood chip out next to where the breechplug/tang butt up against the stock. How can I fix that? I cant find the chip or it would have been a "glue it back" fix. I thought about taking a sliver of wood a bit oversized and gluing it in and then working it down.

Yep, that will do it. Make sure it fits & rubberband it down til it is dry.

Bring it out and we will see what we can do. When you take the barrel out of the stock don't pull up on the front of the barrel turn the gun over with the butt pointing to the floor and rap, it will come out and not chip the wood.

I'll hafta warn ya Ephraim...she's not pretty right now. Like a woman...without her makeup you can see every flaw LOL.(Sorry to the ladies that maybe readin' this.
didn't know an "in the white" gun was so much work.

What did you think you were going to get? He probley left enough wood to carve if you wanted to. In the white is just that unfinished. It is fun to some of us and work to others (labor of love) just go slow and enjoy. I am looking forward to seeing it.
