Oregon Ball/Bullet Starter

Anyone know where I can get an "Oregon Ball/Bullet Starter"? They are made by Michaels of Oregon, which also houses "Butler Creek" products.
It is a short starter that has a bore guide on it. I have one that I use now but I would like to get another. The Gun Emporium has them but with their shipping AND "Handling"Fee, it turns a 17.95 item into a 27.00 item......a little rich for my blood. I've looked quite a bit and can't come up with one for less. I couldn't even locate one on Michaels of Oregon website. Any help would be appreciated.

Why not just make your own? Take a short starter, pull the long rod out put on a bore guide, and put the long rod back in place.

IMO, they are outstanding...I also use mine to knapp my flints...a couple years ago I lucked out and found 3 more for $30 at a little place that was going out of business

I am aware of the starter on Thunder Ridge's website. It looks like it would be OK too. I just wanted an exact replacement. TR's has a removable ball jag and I really don't like removeble parts in certain areas. I may still try one though. By the way, TRidge does offer one of theirs in .32 caliber.
Actually, I loaned my Xtra one to my Father-in-Law 2 years ago and he doesn't want to part with it so I wanted to give him one for his B-Day and get mine back :winking:

TR's has a removable ball jag and I really don't like removeble parts in certain areas.

FYI...the Oregon Ball/Bullet Starter's brass tips are also removeable...they just unscrew...there are at least two sizes I know of you can change for different calibers....45/.50 and .54/.58 sizes...there may be others

Some folks like having the jag removable for different calibre sizes ... others just lock-tite it on! :hatsoff:
