:shocked2: And I struggled the past two days laying out, cutting out, and filing a hunters star for the cheekpiece.
Jerry, I can't add to what has already been said. I am honored to be on the same forum, and can't wait 'til the day comes that I can shake your artistic hand.

Just curious, Jerry, if you still have all that time left to finish this piece of art, how long has it taken you so far?
Send some of your talent my way! :idunno:

Jerry, I've told you this before.....I feel greatful that I share and breath the same air as you! I still enjoy casting my round balls from your old lead melting pot. I think of you every time I use it! Another masterpiece by the master!

I have worked on this gun part time for three years. I built three other guns in between. It took me about a year to make molds for the locks and semi finish them. They were cast by Kevin Blackley in England from my waxes. There are no parts like these that I am aware of in existance. Just 6 sets of castings cost me about $5000.00 I have been collecting photos of French guns for many years. There are not many to be had.

You guys are over complimentary. I don't really figure I'm any more tallented than most other gun builders. I don't believe tallent is given. For the most part I believe it is learned like any other skill. If there is a God given gift I believe it is patience and desire. The rest depends on how much effort one is willing to invest. I figure if God gave you two good hands and two good eyes and normal brain you can learn to do anything you want.
There are others a lot better than I am at most related crafts.
