That just about sums it up, I don't think it gets any better for Blactails than enough snow to follow them to their bed, and doing so in a fashion you can get a shot before they slip out from under your nose, it is really hard for them to stay down as you walk by under these conditions. Now and then heavy frost or hoar frost can yield the same reward, they are not the biggest deer or have the huge racks of the others but they can be a real challenge as you have to beat the habitat as much as the animal.
