Funny this thread. I went through the “list of lubes” when I started, and settled on “sweet oil” (as it was called in some texts) because it was HC so I wouldn’t get crap from the purists on the line whipping out a plastic tube of bore butter and it just works which is the second better benefit.
No mixing, simple, nontoxic and is good on your lunch, what more could you ask from a lube?

I use OO for my shotgun cushion wads. I put a coating of oil in a flat pan and stand the wads in it. Leave overnight and all the oil is sucked up into the wads. Should work with what your doing too.
